Eighteen Years in Woodstock - 1922 to 1939
Allen Parker
With the 1922 arrival of joint principals Rev. Allen E. Parker and his wife, Irene, Woodstock School saw its first major changes. During their 18-year tenure, Woodstock was steadily and deliberately recreated into an interdenominational, coeducational, multiracial and multinational boarding and day school - a school unlike any before seen in India. Through the Parkers' vision, foundations were laid for what has become modern-day Woodstock, a school which continues to be unlike any other in India and possibly the world. Here, in Rev. Parker's detailed memoirs, the genesis of today's Woodstock unfolds in a story told by one who knew it best.
