New food service at Woodstock
When staff and students return to Woodstock this fall, they will be greeted with an exciting surprise- new food! Mars Group of Restaurants,a Mumbai based hotel and restaurant chain run by alumnus Sanjay Narang ‘81, is running a pilot program at Woodstock, testing new foods and menus, updating and remodeling the kitchen and hygienic facilities and re-training the kitchen employees.
In addition to providing the Woodstock community with well- prepared and interesting food (based on the menus of their leading restaurants), they have also played a role in helping with the renovation of Alter Ridge dining hall and kitchen. The dining hall has been completely remodeled to allow for more space and better traffic flow and the kitchen has been updated with new equipment and facilities. To encourage the students to utilize Alter Ridge dining hall on the weekend and make it more of a central meeting point, a small food court has also been built, which will offer students a choice of four different cuisines on Saturdays and Sundays.
