On Wednesday September 7, after rejoicing over the Fair Weather Day announcement, staff and students changed into their sneakers and House t-shirts to participate in the Inter-House Cross Country race. This year, because of the cancellation of all classes, the elementary runners had quite a crowd to cheer them on. And even though the clouds were out more than the sun and a light mist often sprinkled the crowd, nothing could take away from the excitement of the day. After ECP through 5th grade ran their routes, the Sub-Junior and Junior girls and boys (middle school) stepped up to the starting line. Then, the Intermediate (Grade 9 and 10) boys and girls ran, followed by Senior (Grade 11 and 12) runners, plus a few determined staff members. No new records were set this year, but that made no difference to the crowd. For each runner that passed by, whether first or last, the crowd cheered as loud as they could, willing them to continue and encouraging them to press on.
