Mr. Starr and his Advisor Group

A night with a Starr

We're all sitting on a big comfy couch in Mr. Starr's house watching "Spy Game" and having pizza from Prakash's. Mr. Starr, who's our high school advisor, has generously decided to give us a little party and we (meaning his advisees) are not ones to refuse such an offer of good, free food, drinks and movies.

I'm getting ahead of myself; actually the story began at around 6:50pm, when we had started to make our way up to South Hill, the humble abode of our most humble host. The way was treacherous - with the torch being our sole source of light - and we were faced with many obstacles on the way, the cold being the worst. However, through our great force of will, determination and our love of pizza and soft drinks, we managed to reach our destination. It was a cozy and warm place to be in and we immediately felt at home; actually, after half an hour of walking in the cold, any place would have been warm and cozy.

We were immediately made to feel welcome in Mr. Starr's home, with food and drinks provided, as well as music. The Webers were also present, and their company was welcome. We all took our seats; pillows being provided to whosoever didn't get an empty chair to sit on. The environment was a cool, relaxed one; we talked, laughed and had a good time in general. After a while, the different topics of conversation began to run dry - school gossip has its limits too - and we unanimously decided a movie was in order. After long and heated arguments, there were two movies which people voted on to watch, "I Love Huckabees" and "The Spy Game" - no prizes on which movies the guys wanted to watch. However, with our powers of persuasion and masculine charm, as well as the fact that Brad Pitt was in the movie, the boys prevailed and we all sat down to watch "The Spy Game".

One and a half hours later, with the completion of the movie, we all bid our farewells to Mr. Starr. The hunger in our stomachs satisfied, the prospect of going back down to dorms was not well received; at least by me. Personally, I would have preferred just staying back and calling a taxi or something, but I guess that's against school rules or something. Nevertheless, we set forth, our party of five accompanied by a friendly stray dog, whom we decided to name "Kebab". Kebab, however, must have thought of us as new friends, because he followed us all the way from South Hill to Clifton Hostel. In the end, we had to chase him away because pets are strictly prohibited in dorm level and plus, we really didn't know where to keep him.
