Elizabeth Shillington '80
Frenchy Browne (S)
Cyndi Reeser '68

We share this news as we received it...

Dear friends,

John telephoned me this morning with the sad news that Elizabeth died at 4:30 am (Pacific Time) today (October 11). Because they are away from home and don't have access to their address book, John and Penny asked me to inform family, friends and Woodstock people on their behalf. They are able to pick up their email. I have sent this to them so that they will know what has been written to whom - and in order to provide you with their email address if you don't have it.

When it was determined that the bone marrow transplant from Marilyn had not worked, it was apparent that Elizabeth's time was limited. John and Penny went to be with her at the end of September. All other members of the family, including Ellen, were there. This is very, very hard for all of them - and for all of us who are their friends.

The funeral service will be held either on Saturday or Sunday (Oct 14 or 15). If it is possible for you to attend please email John and Penny directly.

Dear friends,

I wanted to let you know that my father, Frenchy Browne, died on October 22nd in Madison, Wisconsin. As some of you will recall, he was our 8th grade homeroom teacher, taught math and Oral Expression, and was the Chaplain for many years.

Dad had been struggling with Alzheimers for the last several years, and was living in a special wing of a nursing home. One of his favorite nurses was a woman from South India, and he was much beloved by the staff.  To the end, he had impeccable manners, and the last time I visited was worried that there wasn’t any lunch for me…

The service for celebrating his life in on November 11th in Hilliard, Ohio, at my brother Jim’s church. I have been assigned the task of reviewing his time at Woodstock—if you have any thoughts to share, I’d appreciate receiving them by email.

My mother, Joan, continues to live in Madison with my sister, Winkie, and is doing pretty well, under the circumstances.

Thanks,

Bruce Browne

I've been advised by Norma McCaig that Cyndi Reeser, Woodstock class of '68,
who attended our DC Curry Club occasionally, recently passed away.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 28, from 6:30 to 8:30
pm at the River Road Unitarian Church in Bethesda, Maryland.

Regards,

Glenn Conrad
