Middle School retreat a hit

The Middle School (grades 7 and 8) Retreat was held over the weekend of 9th and 10th September at the Hanifl Center - a spacious and convenient facility for such events, especially in the monsoon. The topic was Stewardship and workshops were held on this theme. On Saturday there was free time where students could hike, sew, play games, etc. They then presented dramas, based on parables related to the theme, followed by a bonfire and film on Saturday Night. Marshmallows donated by Mr Dunn. A Sunday Morning Service concluded the event.

All those involved felt that the weekend had been a great success, Students wanted to stay longer, as they said they had felt so relaxed and had enjoyed the mix of activities on offer and the break away from school. Staff also felt that it had been a very relaxing and enjoyable time spent with the students. We all appreciated Mrs Tamminen's sharp card playing! This was the first time we had held a voluntary Middle School retreat, and I think the final verdict could be judged on the fact that both staff and students were asking if we could have another one next semester!
