Carrom
Carrom, a game of precision and skill, may look like an easy game to learn, yet it actually takes years to master. Several varieties of the game exist throughout the world; some require cue sticks, others simply utilize a player's fingers. The "Indian Finger Billiards" version, the one played in Hostel, is a mix between billiards and table shuffleboard. As the name suggests, no cues are involved-fingers are used instead. Two to 4 players are needed for each game, each taking separate turns flicking a disc, called the striker, and consequently hitting, or "pocketing" other chips into holes in the corner of the board to accumulate points. At Hostel, carrom is played daily, and a fierce tournament began recently. Watch for updates!
