Inter-house cross country

Students from all grade levels participated in the 2007 Inter-House Cross Country races the first week of September. The event drew enthusiastic support from staff who donned their house colors and cheered loudly from the stands. Before lunch, elementary and middle schools took to the track, fashioned from the twisting-turning Tehri Road and contributed to their house's score. Because of increased traffic in the area, the section of the road adjacent to school gate was cordoned off by S. P. Chelvam and security staff for the safety of runners. Some staff even joined the fun and jogged along with the high school students, whose races took place in the afternoon. Weather cooperated and intermittently, the sun shone through forcing people to take off their coats. Teachers, residence staff and support staff, some of whom regretted it the next day because of sore legs, kept up well with some of the best student runners. Mr. Petters, running with the grade 11 and 12 boys, took home the second place prize behind winner Vinay Gupta. Grade 11 and 12 girls proved to be an equally exciting race with SAGE student Laura Ray in second place behind first place winner Rebekah Blank.
