On set outside school gate

Woodstock becomes a movie set

Woodstock alumni are often seen around the school, visiting old haunts, catching up with teachers and reminiscing about their Woodstock experiences. In the case of Rahul Gandotra '94, his visit here has taken a different turn. Rahul is currently working on his Master's degree at the London Film School. Part of his work requires that he make a short film and so he asked for permission to shoot it at Woodstock. For the last couple of weeks Rahul and his crew have been filming in various parts of campus, Alter Ridge, Edgehill, and the school gate, to name a few. Of course special care has been taken so that the shoot does not disrupt classes or residences, a contingency that was required for him to do this project here.

Though Rahul brought the star of the movie with him from London, several Woodstock students have gotten into the action as well. Shubhashish Bhutiani, Coleman Thomas and Yeshe Rapton each have small speaking roles. Even Communications Director Pete Wildman and his wife, head of Religious Education Dot Wildman have had roles, playing a pair of lost tourists. A host of other students have been cast as extras, experiencing both the excitement of filming and the long waits as shots get set up. Even those who have no part in the film have had fun watching the process of a film being made.
