Woodstock goes Hawaiian
Woodstock middle and high school students enjoyed a very special chapel service in November when the worship team from New Hope Diamond Head (NHDH) Church in Hawaii came and led our monthly service. Woodstock students and staff joined with the Hawaii team to lead the Parker Hall congregation in an upbeat time of worship followed by a message by their pastor Fernando Castillo urging us to become people who forgive others. But what was perhaps the most unusual and memorable part of the service was a hula done by one of the women from their team set to a worship song. The beauty and grace of the dance drew the congregation in, moving many to the point of tears.
New Hope Diamond Church came to Mussoorie to visit the FIRS orphanage which their church supports. FIRS has also been strongly supported by Woodstock students, particularly middle-schoolers. When NHDH learned of our common connection, they asked if they could provide this service as special thanks for our support of the children in the orphanage.
