New Siblings and More Fun – Big Brother / Big Sister Day

Elementary School students were handed a special treat on Friday, November 13th, when each of them was paired up with one or two students from the High School as their big brother or sister for the day. As always, the day encouraged bonding between High School and elementary students through games, food, and a lot of fun!

Around 90 students from the High School signed up for the event, which was organized by the National Honour Society (NHS). They were paired up with the 50 students from Elementary. After spending some time getting to know each other at the Quad, the new siblings walked together to the Hanifl Centre where they enjoyed snacks and took part in an inter-house games event.

The kids played games such as Twister, Paper Plane Throw, and Pop The Balloons, and all of the older siblings also took part in the fun.

Sanjana Datla (Grade 10) was paired up with Vanalika Nagarwalla (Grade 5).

Sanjana said: "I enjoyed the whole evening because it was so easy to interact and connect with my little sister. I really don't know how good a big sister I was, because judging by height, Vanalika was taller than me. I guess that helped break the ice between us since there was never a time in the evening that I felt uncomfortable. So I guess my favourite part of the event was the fact that I had look up at my little sister!"

Vanalika: "My favourite thing about Big Brother / Big Sister Day was that we got good food and played good games. I had such a great sister she was kind and really nice. I liked the tea snack and the Twister game was really fun to watch."
