Staff Retreat

Staff returned to the hillside in late January expecting to encounter blistery Mussoorie weather only to be pleasantly surprised by the mild temperatures and sunshine. Instead of crowding around the Media Center heaters for warmth during the morning tea break, most staff chatted on the media center flats, soaking up the sun's warmth.

This year the staff retreat focused on the use of technology in education. Woodstock commissioned Guest speaker and Winterline Scholar in Residence Doug Pratt to survey and assess Woodstock's use of technology and give suggestions on how to be a more effective and efficient learning environment. He led morning and afternoon sessions with presentations on new educational software, online classrooms and teacher resources.

Chaplain Brian Dunn also presented staff with a new religious life policy, a document created out of several months of meetings and thoughtful discussions. The policy is not final however, and staff were asked for their input and suggestions so that the school could take the next steps to finalize the policy.
