Woodstock, Mathematized!
The Woodstock Mathematics Invitational Competition took place on Friday, April 16. We were pleased to host teams from Wynberg-Allen School, Welham Boys School, SelaQui World School and Doon International School. Students competed in individual and team events.
In the Junior Division (grades 9-10), Aneesh Das of Wynberg-Allen school won a tie-breaker to become the individual champion. Liang-Yun Cheng and Sun Yung Lee, both from Woodstock, tied for second place honours with Rajat from Welham Boys School. In the Junior Team event, Woodstock defeated the competition to earn first place, while Welham Boys and SelaQui took second and third place, respectively. Woodstock's participants in the Junior competition were Liang-Yun Cheng, Sheng-Yao Cheng, Sun Yung Lee, Thatchawut Wangungkananon, Akira Kakkar, and Pachara Ratanabanthoon.
In the Senior Division (grades 11-12), Woodstock thought their way to victory over some strong competition. In the individual contest, Hyun Kue Jeong of Woodstock School was named champion as the only student to correctly answer all twelve questions on the test. Dai Kojima and Niklas Kamber also excelled, both of them sharing second place honours with Rachit Nandwani from Welham Boys School. In the team competition, Woodstock easily defeated the other schools, with second and third place going to Doon International and Wynberg-Allen respectively. Woodstock's participants in the senior competition were Dai Kojima, Niklas Kamber, Hyun Kue Jeong, Swati Goel, Armaan Bindra, and Amit Lalvani.
