Canadian ceramics expert at Woodstock

For a whole month, Woodstock School's Art department entertained Nova Cassan, a ceramics and art expert from Winnipeg, Canada. During her time here, Cassan taught clay workshops for all art students from Grades 1-12 and she also worked with staff and High School students at the school's Clay Centre.

Nova was invited to the school as a guest artist. She has been involved with art all her life. After getting a BA in Fine Arts, she studied clay and ceramics, and was a teacher at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

"It was great fun working here," said Nova, "The kids were very creative and it was very satisfying to see the finished product they worked on."

Upon her return to Canada, Nova is looking to continue working at the Winnipeg Art Gallery and further develop her own art studio.
